Springville High School Incident Prompts Law Enforcement Response
SPRINGVILLE, Ala. — Law enforcement responded to Springville High School early Monday morning after a report of a student in possession of a handgun.
According to a news release from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, deputies assisted the Springville Police Department at approximately 7:13 a.m. following a 911 call from a female student who was reportedly distressed and carrying a handgun in her backpack.
Officers quickly made contact with the student and secured the firearm. The female student was transported to Children’s Hospital for evaluation.
The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Sheriff Billy J. Murray confirmed that no other individuals were injured during the incident.
