Express Scripts Clarifies Error: Alaco Discount Pharmacy Remains In-Network for PEEHIP Members
Centre-A recent mailing error by Express Scripts has led to confusion among Alabama Public Education Employees’ Health Insurance Plan (PEEHIP) members after letters were mistakenly sent stating that Alaco Discount Pharmacy and other local pharmacies would no longer be in-network as of November 30, 2025.
This information is incorrect. Express Scripts has confirmed that Alaco Discount Pharmacy will remain in-network for PEEHIP members throughout 2026 under its direct agreement with the company.
In an updated notice, Express Scripts stated that the letters were sent “inadvertently” and that official retraction letters are being mailed to all impacted members. The company confirmed that pharmacies such as Alaco Discount Pharmacy continue to participate in the Alabama PEEHIP 1045 Network under an executed contract.
Alaco Discount Pharmacy also released a statement reassuring customers:
“Many of our customers have received letters saying we will no longer accept Express Scripts insurance after November 30, 2025, and encouraging them to switch pharmacies. This is not true! This was an error on the part of Express Scripts. We remain fully contracted with Express Scripts and will continue to handle all your prescription needs just as we always have. Please help us spread the word to friends and family with PEEHIP or Express Scripts coverage.”
