Rainbow City Firefighter Joins Sheriff’s Special Operations Group

Rainbow City-Rainbow City Fire Department is celebrating one of its own this week. Firefighter/Paramedic Logan Johnson has earned a place on the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office Joint Special Operations Group (JSOG), marking a major milestone in his career.

Johnson recently completed the rigorous tryout process and was selected to serve as a SWAT Medic with the elite unit. JSOG is the Sheriff’s Office specialized response team, tasked with handling high-risk incidents and critical operations throughout Etowah County.

As a SWAT Medic, Johnson will provide advanced medical support during tactical operations, ensuring the safety and readiness of both his fellow team members and the public.

“We are honored to see one of our own step into this vital role,” the Rainbow City Fire Department said in a statement. “Logan’s dedication, training, and commitment to service represent the very best of our department.”

The department added that it is proud to support personnel who take on additional responsibilities that benefit the wider community.
