Mr. James Snyder, age 80 of Cedar Bluff, passed away on September 30, 2025, at Atrium Health Floyd Cherokee.
A Funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday, October 03, 2025 at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Father Jose Chacko officiating. Burial will follow at the Weiss Lake Memorial Gardens in Gaylesville. His family will receive friends from 1 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Snyder; Son, JR Snyder; Daughter, Lisa Cubbage; Sisters, Paulette Cochran and Lois Carmack; Step-sons, Josh Hilley and Scott Hilley; Father-in-law, Morris Tucker; Sister-in-law, Kim (Tony) Townsell; Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.
Pallbearers will be Josh Hilley, Scott Hilley, Tony Townsell, Jerrett Lambert, Mike Dodd, and John Bannister.
Mr. Snyder was born in West Chicago, IL, the son of the late Leo and Pauline Agnes Synder and was a follower of the Catholic faith. He was a devoted Cubs, Bears, and Notre Dame fan. He spent his entire life working in the trucking industry. James enjoyed putting puzzles together and framing them when complete. He truly loved all of his animals, especially Cooper.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
