Centre Man Arrested in Rome on Multiple Charges
Rome-A Centre man has been taken into custody in Rome after police said he was found driving a truck with a stolen license plate.
According to reports from Coosa Valley News, 67-year-old Robert Wayne King was stopped by officers at the GMC store on Alabama Highway after police noticed the vehicle’s registration was expired. Further investigation revealed the tag had been reported stolen.
Authorities said that during the stop, King attempted to flee the scene on foot but was caught after a short chase.
He was arrested and charged with theft by receiving stolen property, concealing the identity of a vehicle, obstruction, operating an unregistered vehicle, and failure to appear.
