NWS: Storms Could Bring Damaging Winds Wednesday Night
The National Weather Service in Birmingham is warning of the potential for strong to severe storms moving into parts of Central Alabama on Wednesday, September 24.
Forecasters say a frontal boundary will move through the region Wednesday evening and continue into early Thursday morning. Storms that develop along the boundary could produce damaging winds.
The greatest risk will be across the northern and western half of Central Alabama, where storms may bring wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour.
While the overall severe threat is considered low, residents are urged to monitor the forecast and stay weather aware, especially during the evening and overnight hours Wednesday.
