The Spring Garden Panthers dropped out of the Class 1A high school football rankings, released by the Alabama Sports Writers Association early Wednesday morning.

The Panthers fell to 2-2 on the season with their 41-26 Region 8 loss at Woodville on Friday. After being ranked as high as No. 6, Spring Garden dropped from No. 9 last week to other teams receiving votes.

Spring Garden looks to rebound at home this Friday against Valley Head (3-1).

Things remained unchanged for Class 3A Piedmont (3-0) and Class 4A Cherokee County (3-1). The Bulldogs are still ranked second in the 3A poll, while the Warriors hold steady at No. 4 in 4A.

Piedmont hosts Westbrook Christian (3-0) this Friday, while Cherokee County welcomes White Plains (1-2).
