Millie, a familiar face at Sardis High, reconnected with many of her old friends and offered solace to new students as well. Known for her gentle nature, Millie has a unique ability to bring comfort to anyone she meets.
Investigator Jenkins, alongside counselors and local pastors, helped facilitate support sessions for those affected, ensuring that students had a safe space to process their grief.
Sheriff Jonathon Horton and the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office extended their deepest condolences and prayers to the families, friends, and entire Sardis community during this difficult time. “We are thankful to have resources like Millie and our dedicated staff to support our communities in their times of need,” said Horton.
The visit highlights the important role that therapy animals and law enforcement personnel can play in helping communities heal after a tragedy.
