Rustic Charm Opens in Centre with Ribbon Cutting Celebration
CENTRE – The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting for Rustic Charm, a new business in Cherokee Plaza in Centre, on Tuesday, September 9, at 10:00 a.m.
Rustic Charm brings a unique shopping experience to Centre with carefully curated treasures that combine charm, character, and craftsmanship. Owners Karrie and Tony Morris describe the business as a vendor booth–based retail space, where vendors can rent areas to sell antiques, vintage items, and handmade home décor. The shop’s goal is to carry anything unique.
Several vendors who are already part of Rustic Charm were on hand to show their support during the grand opening. Seven additional vendors are expected to move in over the next week, which will put the store close to its current capacity. The owners are already looking at options to possibly accommodate more vendors in the future. If space runs out, they plan to start a waiting list until new space becomes available. Although Rustic Charm has been open for a week, Tuesday’s ribbon cutting marked its official opening day. The store is a family effort, with Karrie’s interest in antiques growing into a shared passion with her husband Tony. She first became involved several years ago with her mother, when the two operated a booth in Gadsden. Over time, Tony has become equally invested in the business, taking an active role in scouting and purchasing items. He regularly attends estate sales and antique auctions in search of pieces with history and character that will fit into the store.
The Morrises say they love working with antiques and anything with a story, and they enjoy sharing that passion with the Centre community. They expressed appreciation for the warm welcome they have received, noting how supportive everyone has been since opening. They credit prayer and community encouragement as being central to the success they have experienced so far.
Rustic Charm is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and is located at 708 Cherokee Plaza in Centre. The business can also be found on Facebook at Rustic Charm.
