Gadsden State Recognizes Dedicated Staff 

with Excellence in Service Awards

Gadsden State GADSDEN, Ala. – Gadsden State Community College recently recognized its most dedicated staff members of the year with the 2025 Excellence in Service Awards. The annual honors celebrate employees whose contributions have transformed the institution and inspired the campus community.

“I am so proud of this year’s award recipients,” said Dr. Tera Simmons, executive vice president at Gadsden State. “Ethan Vinyard and Kaiti Bolton embody what it means to serve with excellence. Ethan’s commitment to creating an environment where students feel proud to learn and grow is unmatched, and Kaiti’s dedication to ensuring every student has the tools and information they need to succeed is inspiring. Both go above and beyond their job descriptions, and their passion for Gadsden State makes a real difference for our students, colleagues, and community.”

2025 Staff Excellence in Service Award recipients

Ethan Vinyard, Maintenance Technician I
Vinyard consistently demonstrates exceptional service through his facilities and maintenance work. He takes initiative to ensure the campus environment is welcoming for prospective students and enjoyable for current students. Known for his positive attitude, he has a meaningful impact on the College community no matter the task.

Kaiti Bolton, CRM Coordinator I
Bolton excels in her role in Enrollment Services, providing professionalism and organizational skills that directly benefit Gadsden State students. She ensures students understand academic expectations and student life opportunities while also supporting marketing efforts that promote enrollment. Her service and positive presence make a lasting impact on the College.

The Excellence in Service Award was presented to Kaiti Bolton by Alan Smith, president of Gadsden State.

The awards were presented during the Faculty and Staff Fall Convocation on Sept. 5 at Gadsden State Cherokee. Each recipient also received $1,000 in discretionary funds for the academic year to be used for equipment, professional development, or staff supplies.
