Albertville Man Arrested in Shooting at Martling Road Service Station

Marshall County-Marshall County authorities report that an Albertville man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred at a service station on the 5200 block of Martling Road on September 4, 2025.

According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), deputies responded to the scene at approximately 4:45 p.m. and found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was treated by emergency medical personnel and flown to a nearby hospital, where he remains in stable but critical condition.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage from the service station and collected witness statements, quickly identifying a suspect and the vehicle involved. With assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies, MCSO located the suspect’s vehicle at a residence in Crossville, Dekalb County. An overnight search of the property and surrounding area was conducted, but the suspect was not found.

On September 5, 2025, the suspect, 52-year-old Bobby Keith Ashley of Albertville, turned himself in to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office. Ashley was arrested and charged with one count of Attempted Murder. He is currently being held at the Marshall County Jail with no bond pending a hearing under Aniah’s Law.

The Sheriff’s Office expressed appreciation for the cooperation of several agencies involved in the investigation, including: the Marshall County District Attorney’s Office, Marshall County patrol division, Guntersville Police Department, Dekalb County District Attorney’s Office, Dekalb County patrol division, Dekalb County Drug Unit, Dekalb County Major Crimes Unit, Dekalb County Special Response Team, Albertville Police Department, and the Marshall County Drug Task Force.

Investigators continue to monitor the victim’s condition and pursue any additional leads in the case.

On 09/04/2025 at approximately 1645 hours, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a shooting incident at a service station located in the 5200 block of Martling Rd.
Once deputies arrived on scene, they discovered one male subject suffering from a gun shot wound to the chest area. The injured male was attended to by emergency medical services and was flown to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
MCSO investigators obtained video footage from the service station and statements from witnesses and were able to identify a suspect and the vehicle that the suspect was traveling in.
With the assistance of multiple law enforcement officers, additional information was obtained by MCSO investigators and the suspect’s vehicle was discovered at a residence in Crossville, inside Dekalb county.
An overnight search of the property and surrounding area was conducted, but the suspect was not located.
Earlier this date, 09/05/2025, the suspect traveled to Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and surrendered. Bobby Keith Ashley, 52, of Albertville was arrested and charged with 1 count of Attempted Murder. He is currently incarcerated in the Marshall County jail with no bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing before a judge.
The victim is currently still hospitalized and remains in stable, but critical condition.
