Weekend Accident at Indian Mountain ATV Park Injures One
CHEROKEE COUNTY — One person was injured in an ATV accident at Indian Mountain ATV Park late Saturday evening.
The call came in just before 11:00 p.m., prompting a response from local emergency crews. Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Josh Summerford told WEIS Radio on Monday that the initial report suggested the accident could have been more serious.
“A deputy did respond as a precaution, but it was primarily a medical call,” Summerford said. He noted that a medical helicopter was placed on standby but did not end up responding to the scene.
Piedmont Rescue, along with Spring Garden Fire Department, responded to the scene. The injured individual, who was riding in a Razor at the time of the accident, was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment.
No further details about the condition of the injured person have been released.
