Investigation Underway After Two Found Dead in Etowah County’s Coats Bend Community
Etowah County authorities are investigating after two people were found dead Sunday in the Coats Bend community. According to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 6000 block of Old Highway 411 around 12 PM, where they discovered an adult male and an adult female deceased at the scene.
In a statement released to WEIS News, the Sheriff’s Office said:
“Etowah County, AL – Deputies with the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 6000 block of Old Highway 411 in the Coats Bend community. Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male and an adult female deceased at the scene.
The area was secured, and investigators with the Sheriff’s Office, the Jacksonville State University Center for Applied Forensics, and the Etowah County District Attorney’s Office also responded to assist in the investigation.
The case remains under investigation. Additional details will be released as they become available.”
