Sand Rock reaches semifinals of Holly Pond volleyball tournament

HOLLY POND — The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats went 3-2 and earned a spot in the semifinals of the Holly Pond volleyball tournament on Saturday.

The Lady Wildcats (8-8) defeated Southeastern (25-18, 25-13), lost to Carbon Hill (20-25, 25-22, 12-15), defeated Cold Springs (25-16, 25-21), and beat Oneonta (25-7, 25-18) in the quarterfinals of the gold bracket.

Sand Rock then fell to Fyffe in the semifinals 14-25, 16-25.

For the day, Caitlyn Lynch posted 21 kills, five aces, and six blocks. Paitlyn Hughes delivered 46 digs and 18 kills. Megan Smith managed 17 kills, five blocks, and 33 digs.

Maddie Clanton collected 74 assists, five blocks, and six aces. Emma Sipsy accumulated 13 kills, 22 digs, and five blocks. Molly Grace Lay came away with 26 digs and five aces. Macey Pruitt finished with 13 kills and five blocks.

Sand Rock travels to Spring Garden on Monday.
