Morning Accident Temporarily Closes Highway 411 in Leesburg
LEESBURG – An early morning accident briefly shut down traffic on Highway 411/Weiss Lake Boulevard Tuesday.
Just before 7 a.m., a white Ford SUV stopped in the southbound lane near the 3100 block, close to the Hillside Road intersection, after observing a school bus stopped on the northbound side of the roadway. A gray Ford sedan, also traveling south, failed to notice the stopped vehicle and struck it from behind.
Leesburg Police and Fire Department units responded to the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Other responding units were canceled after the situation was under control.
Both southbound lanes of Highway 411 were initially closed while crews cleared debris and removed the damaged vehicles. Traffic was later reopened to one lane, with full access restored once the vehicles were cleared from the roadway.
