Three Juveniles Injured in Boating Accident on Neely Henry Lake

ETOWAH COUNTY — A boating accident on Neely Henry Lake late Friday afternoon left three juveniles injured after the inflatable they were riding struck a pier.

Authorities say the incident happened around 5:15 p.m. on August 29 near the Greensport area of Rainbow City. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), 65-year-old Anthony W. Musselman of Ohatchee was operating a pontoon boat and towing the three juveniles on an inflatable when the crash occurred.

The victims, a 13-year-old and two 14-year-olds, were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been released.

ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the incident.
