Emergency Responders Hold Press Conference About Fatal ATV Accident in Cherokee County

Cherokee County EMA, Cherokee County Coroner, and Cherokee County Sheriff Department held a joint press conference Sunday afternoon at 4 pm. The event was held in the County Commission Chambers.

County Commission Chairman/Probate Judge, Tim Burgess, welcomed the media in attendance and expressed his concern about the tragi accident and offered his prayers for the victims.

County EMA Director said the reason for the event was to get the factual information about the tragic accident at the Indian Mountain ATV Park. He explained about the difficult situation the First Responders had to deal with and how well they handled the task. Rogers explained about the incident.

Sheriff Jeff Shaver also gave information about his department conducting an investigation in conjunction with the Coroner’s Office into the accident.

Coroner Paul McDonald stated most of the basic information about the tragedy had been given and took questions from the Media.

Senator Andrew Jones called the EMA Director and ask to address the media at the Presser. Jones read from a prepared statement about the accident at the Park.
