PISGAH – The Sand Rock girls cross country team took first place and the Wildcat boys finished second in the Pisgah Invitational on Saturday.
Amelia Ford led the Lady Wildcats with a personal record time of 23:34.09 to finish in second place. Athens Bible’s Kaylie Key topped the girls’ field with a time of 21:49.80.
Anna King finished fifth with a time of 23:57.40, followed by Emma Swain in sixth at 24:35.91, Katelin Stiefel in seventh at 24:39.10, and Abby King in eighth at 24:46.55.
Lacie Crane (16th, 26:20.40), Ayva Davis (21st, 26:47.72), Anahi Diaz (26th, 28:36.55), Madison Walker (29th, 28:48.84), Alexandria Welsh (36th, 29:36.98), and Marsha Hill (47th, 31:07.95) rounded out the Lady Wildcat runners.
In the boys’ 5K race, Brody Johnson led Sand Rock with a second-place finish with a time of 18:36.71. Fyffe’s Dawson J. McCollum took the top spot following a time of 17:55.95.
The Wildcats’ Adan Linares earned sixth place with a time of 20:07.32. Maz Davidson took ninth at 20:28.32. Bryson Cleere came in 11th with a personal record time of 20:30.66.
Bobby Wilburn (32nd, PR 22:46.78) and Tim Snow (40th, PR 23:34.73) rounded out the Wildcat runners.
Sand Rock’s next meet is at Oxford on Aug. 30 in the Waffle House/Yellow Jacket Invitational.
Sand Rock Junior Varsity Boys and Girls
Dalton Oliver earned first place in the JV boys’ two-mile race with personal record time of 11:51.77. Liam Loveless finished 15th with a personal best time of 13:24.65.
Tanner Moses (24th, PR 14:35.17), Riley Walker (42nd, 15:53.06), Carson Cleere (45th, PR 16:06.31), Dawson Brewster (46th, PR 16:07.32), and Kaysen Crane (48th, 16:17.65) rounded out the Wildcat JV boys runners.
Evelyn Ealy led the JV Lady Wildcats with a 10th-place finish and a PR time of 15:16.42. Ava Etheredge finished 25th at 17:47.48.
