County Mourns the Loss of Two Students

Residents of Cherokee County continue to mourn the loss of two students.

Lilly and Libby McCain died in a tragic auto accident Thursday afternoon. Lilly had just picked Libby up from Spring Garden School where she attended. They were on their way home when the accident occurred on Cherokee County Road 29 in the Rock Run Community. The vehicle they were in collided with an 18 wheel log truck. Both were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Lilly, 18, had graduated from Spring Garden School in May and was enrolled as a Sophomore at Jacksonville State University.

Libby was 12 and was in the 6th Grade at Spring Garden School.

 

The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Centre. A Memorial Service is to be held Tuesday afternoon at the Pine Grove Baptist Church. You can view the complete obituaries on the WEIS Radio News Site:
