COOSA, Ga. — The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats went 4-1 Saturday, winning their pool and reaching the semifinals of the Coosa Volleyball Invitational in Georgia.
In pool play, Sand Rock (4-3) defeated Murray County 25-22, 25-18; Coosa 25-17, 23-25, 15-13; and Fannin 25-9, 24-26, 15-11.
In the tournament quarterfinals, Sand Rock beat Coosa a second time 25-18, 25-22, then lost to Armurchee 18-25, 6-25.
For the day, Caitlyn Lynch contributed 35 kills, nine blocks, and five aces. Maddie Clanton collected 99 assists and five blocks. Molly Grace Lay posted 70 digs.
Megan Smith managed 28 kills and 58 digs. Paitlyn Hughes came away with 22 kills, 63 digs, and five aces. Emma Sipsy finished with 45 digs, five blocks, and five aces.
Sand Rock opens area play Tuesday at Pleasant Valley.
