Centre Boy Headed to Florida for World Series Competition
Centre- A seven-year-old boy from Centre will be representing Alabama on the big stage next week as he heads to Newberry, Florida, to compete in the FPB World Series with Team Alabama.
He earned his spot early in the season, climbing to the No. 1 ranking in the state and holding it throughout the year. His hard work and dedication have now given him the chance to compete for a top honor — a custom 44 All-American glove, awarded to the tournament’s top five players.
He is the son of Andrea Garrett-Helms and Jeff Helms, and the grandson of Rita and the late Donnie Garrett, Dana Helms & Jeff Davis, and Slim Helms.
The community wishes him the best of luck as he travels to Florida to represent both Centre and the state of Alabama.
