Chattooga County Agricultural Fair Returns August 21–24

Summerville, GA – The annual Chattooga County Agricultural Fair is set to open Thursday, August 21, and run through Sunday, August 24, at the Chattooga County Fairgrounds and Agricultural Center, located at 40 Middle School Drive in Summerville.

This year’s fair will feature four days of family-friendly fun, including a full midway, nightly entertainment, livestock shows, and the popular Blue Ribbon competitions.

Fair Hours & Admission

  • Thursday, Aug. 21: 5 p.m.–10 p.m. – Free admission for all students

  • Friday, Aug. 22: 5 p.m.–11 p.m. – Free admission for veterans and active military

  • Saturday, Aug. 23: 2 p.m.–11 p.m.

  • Sunday, Aug. 24: 2 p.m.–9 p.m.

General admission is $5 each day. Ride armbands are $25 on Thursday and $30 Friday through Sunday.

Entertainment Lineup
The fair’s entertainment stage will host a variety of music:

  • Friday, Aug. 22 – 1st Generation Band at 9 p.m.

  • Saturday, Aug. 23 – The Band Chickamauga at 7 p.m. and Eat A Peach, an Allman Brothers tribute band, at 9 p.m.

  • Sunday, Aug. 24 – Local gospel entertainment at 5 p.m., followed by Karen Peck and New River at 6 p.m.

Blue Ribbon Competitions
Residents from Chattooga County and surrounding counties are invited to showcase their talents in arts, photography, needlework, horticulture, food preservation, agriculture, and more. Entries will be judged prior to the fair’s opening, with winners announced during the event.

Livestock Shows
The fair will also spotlight local youth through a full lineup of livestock competitions:

  • Thursday – Market Goat Show

  • Friday – Market Lamb Show

  • Saturday – Beef Show and 4-H/FFA Poultry Auction

  • Sunday – Dairy Show and Market Hog Preview

The Poultry Auction, featuring 4-H and FFA projects, will be held Saturday at 7 p.m., with proceeds going back to the students.

Honey Show
The annual Honey Show, hosted by the Chattooga County Beekeepers Association, will return with divisions in honey, wax, baked goods, art, and photography, all highlighting the importance of beekeeping in the region.

Fair organizers remind visitors that the event will take place rain or shine. No alcohol, outside food or drinks, weapons, or pets (other than service animals and show animals) are allowed.
