Several area high school football teams will have one last dress rehearsal on Friday before the 2025 regular season kicks off next week.
Sand Rock, under the direction of first-year head coach Tanner Nelson, is at Valley Head with Coosa Christian and St. John Paul. The Wildcats scrimmage against Valley Head at 4:45 p.m., then St. John Paul at 5:30 p.m.
The Piedmont Bulldogs are at Ohatchee and will scrimmage against Alexandria at 5:40 p.m. and Jacksonville at 6:35 p.m.
The Spring Garden Panthers are hosting Ranburne and North Sand Mountain. The Panthers play Ranburne at 6 p.m., then wrap up against North Sand Mountain at 7:30 p.m.
Fayetteville and Sylvania pay a visit to Cedar Bluff. The Tigers take on Fayetteville at 6 p.m., then Sylvania in the nightcap at 8 p.m.
Three other area teams are playing single scrimmages on Friday evening, with all of those jamborees beginning at 7 p.m. Those include Gaylesville at Gaston, Appalachian at Collinsville, and Cherokee County at North Jackson.
