In the Cherokee County Arrest Files for the previous 24 hours:

Gregory Reed, age 52 of Centre, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on charges of three counts of the unlawful possession of a controlled substance, the use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, and for failure to appear on previous charges.

Shay Smith, age 30 of Gadsden, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on charges of two counts of domestic harassment-family.

Heather Powell, age 41 of LaFayette, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on previous charges.

Joshua Jackson, age 37 of Cedar Bluff, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on previous charges.

Arrests are based on probable cause; all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Currently, there are a total of 94 inmates housed in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
