Funeral service for Radford Oscar McCurdy, 78, of Piedmont will be Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with Brother Josh Hutt officiating.

Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from noon until time of the service.

Mr. McCurdy passed away Monday at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his three children, Stan McCurdy (Amy) of Piedmont, Cindy Carter (Robert) of Cedar Bluff, and Alicia Cusey (James) of Pleasant Valley; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Robert Carter, Ben Carter, Will Carter, Jacob McCurdy, Will Tucker and James Cusey.

Mr. McCurdy was a long-time resident of Calhoun County and was a United States Army veteran. He retired from Anniston Army Depot with 40 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed family gathering. He also enjoyed yard sales, going to trade day and watching the Piedmont Bulldogs on Friday nights.

Mr. McCurdy was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Charlotte McCurdy.
