Community Safety Night Unites Etowah County for a Fun and Informative Evening
On August 5, 2025, The Venue at Coosa Landing in Gadsden was buzzing with energy as the City of Gadsden hosted the annual Community Safety Night. Families and residents from across Etowah County came out for an exciting evening to meet the local heroes who work every day to keep the community safe.
Kids had a blast climbing the wall and riding pedal bikes provided by the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, while crowds gathered to watch the Motor Unit demonstrate impressive riding maneuvers. One of the event’s most memorable moments was an impromptu hot dog eating contest between firefighters and police officers, bringing plenty of laughs and cheers.
Visitors enjoyed free food and t-shirts as they explored the displays from representatives of departments from across Etowah County including fire, law enforcement, and EMS departments. Guests had the chance to check out specialized vehicles and equipment, meet police K9 officers, and get hands-on with emergency response gear.
Local nonprofits and community groups were also on hand, sharing information and ways for residents to get involved and support important causes.
Community Safety Night was a fantastic opportunity for neighbors to connect with first responders and each other. It was an evening full of fun, learning, and appreciation — a true celebration of the dedication and teamwork that keeps Gadsden and Etowah County safe.
