Rainbow City Police Department Earns State Accreditation
Recognition Reflects Commitment to Excellence in Law Enforcement

RAINBOW CITY, Ala. — The Rainbow City Police Department has received accreditation from the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police (AACOP), marking a significant achievement in the department’s ongoing commitment to professional law enforcement standards.

Chief Camp Yancey and his team were officially recognized during a ceremony held at the AACOP Summer Conference in Orange Beach. The accreditation is a formal acknowledgment of the department’s dedication to providing high-quality service and maintaining accountability, transparency, and professionalism.

“This accreditation reflects our unwavering commitment to professionalism and delivering top-tier service to the citizens of Rainbow City,” Chief Yancey said. “It represents not just a badge of honor, but a promise to continue raising the bar in law enforcement standards.”

Accreditation through AACOP is a rigorous process that evaluates a department’s policies, procedures, and operational standards. Departments must demonstrate adherence to best practices in areas such as community policing, officer training, and ethical conduct.

“We are proud to serve. We are proud to protect. And we are proud to do it with excellence,” Yancey added.

The recognition places Rainbow City among a select group of law enforcement agencies across the state that have met the AACOP’s high standards, and it underscores the department’s mission to ensure public safety through integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
