Three Arrested in Separate Incidents Across Rome Area
ROME, Ga. — Authorities in the Rome area have made multiple arrests this week in connection with three unrelated incidents involving public indecency, child endangerment, and weapons violations.
On Sunday morning, Anna Maria Freshour, 33, of Cartersville, was taken into custody after police said she removed her shorts and defecated on the sidewalk outside the 911 center. The incident occurred shortly after 6 a.m., and Freshour was charged with public indecency.
In a separate case, Melissa Atchley Williams, 57, of Rome, was arrested late Saturday night after police said she left THC-infused gummies within reach of a small child. According to reports, Williams had fallen asleep, during which time the child gained access to the gummies. The child was later transported to a hospital in Atlanta for treatment. Williams now faces a charge of second-degree cruelty to children.
In another incident, Timothy Lamar Flantroy, 56, of Silver Creek, was arrested after a traffic stop on Highway 101 near Isabell Road led police to discover five firearms in his possession. Flantroy, a convicted felon, is prohibited from owning firearms and was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
All three cases remain under investigation by local authorities.
