Leesburg Police Investigating Early Morning Shooting on Lakefront Drive

Leesburg, AL — The Leesburg Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place early Tuesday morning on Lakefront Drive.

According to authorities, the incident occurred around 5:00 a.m. One individual was shot in the arm and was transported to a nearby hospital, where they were treated for a non-life-threatening injury. The victim has since been released from the hospital.

Investigator Zach Ellison told WEIS Radio News that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The investigation remains active, and no further details have been released at this time.
