Gadsden Set to Kick Off “World’s Longest Yard Sale” August 7–10
690-mile event spans six states, begins at Noccalula Falls

GADSDEN, Ala. — Bargain hunters, antique collectors, and road-tripping families from across the country are preparing for one of America’s most scenic shopping experiences: the 127 Yard Sale, also known as the “World’s Longest Yard Sale.” The 2025 event is scheduled for August 7–10 and begins once again in Gadsden, Alabama.

Spanning an impressive 690 miles, the annual yard sale stretches through six states—Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama—following Highway 127 and the picturesque Lookout Mountain Parkway. Gadsden, perched atop Lookout Mountain and located just 60 miles north of Birmingham on I-59, serves as the southern gateway to this massive event.

Each year, hundreds of vendors set up shop at the starting point at Noccalula Falls Park. From Thursday through Saturday, visitors can stop by the Kiwanis Pavilion between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. to purchase official 2025 World’s Longest Yard Sale T-shirts for $20, bottled water for $1, and pick up free visitors guides and church fans to beat the summer heat.

Highlighted by HGTV and celebrated by collectors nationwide, the event offers shoppers a chance to explore backroads and scenic vistas while browsing everything from vintage goods to handcrafted items. The majority of the route follows Highway 127, with the southern portion winding along the Lookout Mountain Parkway from Georgia to Gadsden.

Organizers note that August 7 also marks the first day of school for Etowah County, and they urge both vendors and shoppers to drive with extra caution—particularly along Tabor Road northeast of Noccalula Falls.

After a day of treasure hunting, visitors are encouraged to enjoy Gadsden’s dining options and unwind at local hotels or campgrounds. For printable maps, vendor locations, and frequently asked questions, shoppers can visit www.127yardsale.com.
