Piedmont Fire Department Releases June Activity Report
At Tuesday evening’s City Council meeting, Piedmont Fire Chief Todd Kirkland presented the department’s activity report for the month of June.
According to the report, firefighters responded to a total of 82 calls. These included 4 fire-related calls, 1 incident involving overpressure or overheating, and 2 calls involving hazardous conditions with no actual fire. The department also responded to 14 service calls, 2 false alarms, 2 good intent calls, and 3 severe weather-related incidents.
Medical emergencies made up the majority of the month’s activity, with the department assisting on 54 medical calls alongside rescue and emergency services.
In addition to emergency responses, the department also conducted preventative maintenance, testing 128 fire hydrants throughout the city to ensure they are in proper working order.
