Gadsden Man Arrested on 23 Child Pornography Charges

A Gadsden man is back behind bars after being arrested on multiple child pornography charges, according to Etowah County Sheriff Jonathon Horton. On Monday, July 15, investigators executed a search warrant at a home on Gowens Road in Gadsden as part of an ongoing child pornography investigation. During the search, authorities seized several electronic devices believed to contain illegal material.

The suspect, 59-year-old Jonathon David St. Pierre, was taken into custody at the scene. He now faces 23 counts of possession of child pornography. St. Pierre is already a registered sex offender. He was previously convicted of similar charges in 2021 and is currently on state probation related to that case. The seized devices are being examined for additional evidence as the investigation continues.

Police say St. Pierre was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center, where he remains held on a $460,000 cash bond. He is also being held without bond due to a probation violation.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials say more charges could be filed as evidence is reviewed. “This arrest is the result of dedicated work by our ICAC Unit, along with support from the Rainbow City Police Department,” Sheriff Horton said. “We will continue to aggressively go after those who exploit children online. There is absolutely no place for this kind of crime in our community.”

Authorities encourage anyone with information related to this case or suspected child exploitation to contact local law enforcement. The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office reminds the public that tips can be submitted anonymously.
