Henagar Man Killed in Motorcycle-Tractor Collision

A Henagar man was killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a farm tractor in DeKalb County.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash occurred at approximately 8 a.m. on July 14. Avery L. Weathers, 61, was fatally injured when the 2008 Honda Shadow motorcycle he was operating collided with a John Deere tractor driven by 49-year-old Timothy W. Lea, also of Henagar.

The crash took place on DeKalb County Road 134 near Alabama Highway 75, about four miles south of Ider. Weathers was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate. No further information has been released at this time.
