Rome Woman Arrested After Child Ingests Methamphetamine
Rome, GA — A 25-year-old woman from Rome is facing serious charges after authorities say a small child in her care ingested methamphetamine.
Kilene Lynn Boatner was arrested this week following a disturbing incident at her residence on Dodd Boulevard. According to reports, officers responded to a medical emergency involving a child. The child was transported to a local hospital for treatment after exhibiting symptoms consistent with drug exposure.
During the investigation, police said Boatner attempted to dispose of evidence by trying to flush a bag of suspected methamphetamine down the toilet before officers could recover it.
Boatner has been charged with second-degree cruelty to children and tampering with evidence. The child’s current condition has not been publicly disclosed.
The case remains under investigation.
