Mrs. Betty Jean Cagle, age 84 of Centre, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Phillips and Bro. David Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 am until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Freddie Homer Cagle; Daughters, Debra Ann Godfrey, Mary Jean (Steve) Davis, Ronda Elizabeth (Eddie) Holcomb; Lee Ann (Bernie) Pierce; Son, Robert Thomas (Tommy) Cagle; Grandchildren, Karen Davis, D.J. Godfrey, Rebecca Davis, Alex Davis, Breanna Pierce, Katie Holcomb, Brandon Cagle, and Kyle Cagle; Great-Grandchild, Kip Cagle; Sister Mary Elizabeth Crunkelton.
Betty loved her family. She spent her life dedicated to her husband, children, and grandkids. She was a very caring person who held a special place in the lives of extended family. Betty had a love for animals and flowers. She enjoyed always making her home welcoming to everyone who visited. You could find her at home doing seek-a-word puzzles. She was the daughter of the late George Eugene Payne and Velma Elizabeth Lipscomb.
Pallbearers will include Brandon Cagle, Kip Cagle, D.J. Godfrey, Bernie Pierce, Kyle Cagle, Cameron Atchley, and Jakob Catlett.
Honorary Pallbearers include Eddie Holcomb and Alex Davis.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Velma, and her aunts that helped raise her and her two brothers.
