CENTRE, Ala. — A man was taken into custody Tuesday morning after a reported reckless driving incident led to a two-vehicle crash on the Cedar Bluff Highway in Centre.

According to authorities, a call came in around 7 a.m. reporting a dark-colored Ford Escape being driven recklessly along the highway. Moments after the alert was dispatched, the vehicle reportedly collided with a white Ford F-150 pickup truck in front of Dean’s Pharmacy.

Centre Police and Centre Fire Department responded quickly to the scene. Officers administered a field sobriety test to the driver of the Escape in a nearby parking lot. The man was then handcuffed and taken into custody by Centre Police.

A dog that was inside the Escape at the time of the crash was reportedly uninjured.

No injuries were reported in the accident, and it remains unclear at this time if any formal charges have been filed. The incident is under investigation.
