Sue Hawkins Mobbs, age 89 of Gaylesville, passed away Wednesday, June 25th
A funeral service will be held 1PM Friday, June 27th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1, Friday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will include, Terry Hawkins Jr, Matt Patterson, Jason Mallett, Seth Snider, Saw Jordan, Samson Mallett, and Gage Davis.
Survivors include her son, Bro. Terry (Theresa) Hawkins; sister, Margie Adderhold; grandchildren, Matt Hawkins, Joseph Hawkins, Bobbie Sioux (James) Hennings, Amanda (Jason) Mallett, Shannon (Matt) Patterson, Terry (Robyn) Hawkins; 10 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Hawkins; second husband, Thomas Mobbs; sons, Robert Gary Hawkins, and Johnny Michael Hawkins.
Sue was a native of Gaylesville and the daughter of the late Dee Lee Ray and Gussie Mae Ray. She was also a member of Freedom Baptist Church. Christian by birth, Baptist by choice. 1st Peter 1:23 – “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible seed, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.” Sue was a dedicated mother and grandmother to all her children. She loved big and family was important. She never met a stranger. She loved God foremost and was ready to serve where she could.
