Two Georgia Men Arrested After Unusual Incident Near Indian Mountain in Eastern Cherokee County

Deputies received a report after a game camera captured one of the men trespassing on private property and exposing himself directly to the camera. The situation escalated when the pair attempted to destroy the device in an apparent effort to cover their tracks. After struggling with several malfunctioning firearms, the men eventually succeeded in firing the weapon, destroying the camera.

According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, investigators have arrested two Georgia men following a strange incident near Indian Mountain ATV Park.

The suspects were identified as Donald Robert Hubbard, 66, and Louie Dan Sherman, 52, both of Cedartown, Georgia. Further investigation revealed that both men have prior felonies that prohibit them from possessing a firearm.

Despite their efforts to erase the evidence, the footage had already been secured.

Arrest warrants were obtained, and both men were taken into custody by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office before being extradited to Cherokee County. Sheriff Shaver expressed his appreciation to both the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Cedartown Police Department for their assistance in the case.

 Donald Robert Hubbard 66 of Cedartown, GA was charged with Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm, Criminal Mischief 3rd, and Public Lewdness.

Louie Dan Sherman 52 of Cedartown, GA was charged with Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm, Criminal Mischief 3rd  degree.
