During the regular meeting of the Cherokee County Commission Monday afternoon, a resolution proclaiming June 15, 2025 as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day with the Resolution being read and then presented to members of the Department of Human Resources.
LuAnn Hayes was appointed to the Library Board to serve an unexpired 4 year term which will expire in February 2029.
At the request of County Revenue Commissioner, Dustin StClair, the Commission approved insolvents, errors and taxes in litigation for 2024 and uncollected insolvents and taxes in litigation from previous years.
A contract for computer software support with Delta Computer Systems was approved in the amount of $1370 per month, approved an agreement with AVENU and the Probate Office in the amount of $150 per year for map/plat services. A petition was accepted to vacate a .78 acre parcel located next to Slackland Baptist Church. A $1000 expenditure was approved for the City of Centre Youth Baseball Team traveling to the USASA Rec Baseball All-Star World Series Tournament in July.
The next County Commission meeting will be July 14th at 10 am.
