Truck Ends Up in Ditch After Early Morning Accident on Chesnut Bypass

Centre – An early morning accident on the Chesnut Bypass in Centre left a white pickup truck stuck in a roadside ditch filled with water.

The incident occurred just before 6:00 a.m. Thursday, when a passerby reported the vehicle had run off the road in front of Baggett Rentals, across from Emblem Credit Union.  The driver of the truck reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to veer off the roadway and land in a deep ditch with water reaching above the frame in places.

The driver remained inside the vehicle when first responders arrived but assured them he was uninjured and not trapped.

Personnel from the Centre Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene. As of shortly after 6:00 a.m., responders were still on-site, awaiting a wrecker to remove the vehicle.
