SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The National Invitational Tournament for Bible Drill and Speakers was held Friday, June 13, in Springfield, Missouri, drawing top young competitors from across the country. The event featured three divisions: Youth Bible Drill for 7th through 9th graders, High School Bible Drill for 10th through 12th graders, and a Speakers Tournament for high school students. Winners of state-level competitions were invited to represent their home states on the national stage.
Representing Alabama were siblings Alyvia and Jonas Browder, both members of East Centre Baptist Church. Alyvia competed in the Youth Bible Drill division and was one of only two participants to receive the prestigious Perfect Score Award. Her older brother Jonas also earned a Perfect Score Award in the High School Bible Drill and distinguished himself further by placing Second Overall in his division.

Each participant memorized and recited numerous Bible passages as part of the rigorous competition. Among those, the siblings shared two of their favorite verses from the season.
Alyvia’s favorite verse came from Philippians 4:8:
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Jonas found inspiration in Romans 8:38–39:
“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Their outstanding performances not only showcased personal dedication and spiritual maturity but also brought honor to their church, community, and the state of Alabama.
