Just after 3 am Sunday, Ball Play 1 Fire and Rescue received a call of a boat capsized in the Coosa River with three subjects on top of the overturned vessel. Ball Play responded with two trucks, rescue boat, and Drone to search for the victims.

They were able to use the drone to locate the overturned boat and the men. The drone provided video and GPS coordinates for the responders in the Rescue Boat to get to them. The drone also provided overhead lighting to aid in getting the men aboard the Rescue Unit.

Once the men were transported to the boat ramp, the responders in the Rescue Boat were able to go back to the over turned boat, turn it over and tow it to the ramp.

Cherokee County Rescue Squad and Leesburg Fire also responded to assist in the operation.
