Glowing Financial Report for the City of Centre
Centre- Forrest Frost with Frost and Company, the accountant for the City of Centre, informed the Council of the preliminary results of the Annual Audit during the City Council Meeting on Tuesday afternoon. He said the City is in very good financial condition due to the extremely good job the City Council and employees do in budgeting and managing the spending. He said in this day and time many municipalities cannot pay their bills but the City of Centre has money to pay the bills with some in reserve. Frost said in most departments, the spending is under budget with the exception of the Fire Department where unexpected breakdowns have occurred and extra expense was necessary but he said this is something you cannot budget for. He praised the City’s Employees for the job they do in keeping the financial records and the overall City’s Operations.
In other business, the minutes of the previous meeting and the bills for payment were approved.
The Council discussed an agreement with Simple Grants for the next year. This is a consulting group that helps find grants for Non Profits and local governments. Mayor Mansfield Had these comments:
The Council approved the measure which is $9800 for a year.
