Mold Issue At Cedar Bluff Police Department Not as Serious as First Thought

The Cedar Bluff Town Council met in regular session Monday afternoon. During the planning session, the report on the mold issue in the Police Department was discussed. The report indicated it was not the dangerous type spores and could be reasonably mitigated. However, the report went on to say it would be better to take action to stop the water from getting in through the roof and due to a drainage issue. The Council discussed both and the quotes received previously to repair the roof and correct the drainage. The council decided to proceed with the quote to repair the roof from Midian Roofing of Rome. They wanted more information about the quotes to correct the drainage issue.

The Council approved the proposal for upgrade to the Town’s website, which they only have limited access to, in the amount of $3500 with annual hosting in the amount of $270  from Internet Solutions in Gadsden. Also, it was approved to pay the balance owing to Wide Net Consultants in the amount of $2620.47.

The Police and Fire Reports were given. Both can be view on the WEIS Radio News Site at weisradio.com.

The Council took no action on the petition of de-annexation from Debbie Shaw. Mrs. Shaw voiced her concern and disappointment.

It was approved for a Kubota tractor and mower to be rented from Weiss Electric and Plumbing Supply in Centre for 7 days in the amount of $1380. This is necessary for mowing in the Town while the Town’s tractor is being repaired.
