BREAKING NEWS: Rollover Accident on County Road 36 in Sand Rock
Sand Rock, AL (June 9, 2025) – Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle accident this morning in the 700 block of County Road 36 in Sand Rock, Alabama, where a car reportedly flipped onto its roof. The two passengers in the vehicle survived with minor injuries.
The Sand Rock Fire Department, Cherokee County Rescue Squad, Atrium Floyd EMS, and Alabama State Troopers were dispatched to the scene shortly after 11:15 a.m. One passenger told WEIS radio the vehicle appeared to lose control after driving through a puddle before overturning near a curve in the roadway.
Officials have not yet released the identity of the driver. First responders worked quickly to secure the scene, extract the individual(s), and assess injuries. One person was reportedly transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. The extent of injuries remains unknown at this time.
The Alabama State Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash. Traffic in the area was temporarily diverted while crews cleared debris and worked the scene.
