Jesse Battles Announces Senate Run for District 10 Against Andrew Jones
Jesse Battles has announced he is running for Alabama Senate in District 10. This is the seat currently held by incumbent Andrew Jones. Jones recently announced he is running for reelection to the seat he has held. In announcing the challenge, Battles had the following to say on his social media page:
“Today, I’m proud to announce that I’m running for the Alabama State Senate against incumbent Andrew Jones. For nearly a year now, I’ve heard from so many of you – neighbors, friends, and community leaders – sharing your concerns about our current State Senator and encouraging me to step up. I’ve listened, and I’m ready to answer that call.In today’s world, our values and faith in God are being challenged like never before. It’s time to stand firmly for truth and common sense. I believe that men are men and women are women, and that biological males don’t belong in women’s sports. We must protect our children from explicit content in libraries and schools, and reject divisive ideologies like Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) that have no place in our institutions. I fully support President Trump and his agenda, and I am committed to defending our Alabama values in Montgomery. However, fighting for what’s right doesn’t just mean you simply take a stand against far-left lunatics in some other part of the country. It also means that you have to hold your own leaders accountable. While businesses in Northeast Alabama are working hard to recover from Biden’s economy, Senator Andrew Jones was busy sponsoring legislation that targeted one of our own – threatening jobs, families, and our future. We need a Senator who fights FOR our local businesses, not one who tries to crush them from Montgomery. But it’s not just about the lack of support for our businesses. Andrew Jones has failed us on multiple fronts. He personally spearheaded the effort to silence Veterans all across the State of Alabama. Because of his legislation, Montgomery politicians now get to pick who represents the interests of Veterans, not the actual Veterans themselves. This isn’t standing up for our heroes, it’s undermining them.Andrew Jones even tried to strong-arm Etowah County community leaders into supporting legislation that would have defunded critical services in our cities – like our police and other first responders – and he did it without bringing them any kind of responsible plan for how our cities could make up the revenue shortfall. That’s not just poor leadership from our State Senator, it’s a flat-out dangerous way to govern that puts our community’s safety at risk.If there’s anything you need to know about this race, it’s that Andrew Jones’s policies are terrible for our community. I don’t believe he’s a bad person, but his desire for political power in Montgomery is harming real people and real families here in Northeast Alabama. Our community deserves better. I want to work with our local leaders, not against them. I will fight hand in hand with our local leaders to grow our economy by investing in local talent, attracting new industry to the NEAR-MegaSite, and strengthening our infrastructure. That means extending I-759 and supporting the construction of a new Southside Bridge. I will work hard daily to build a stronger, more united Northeast Alabama.I will work to protect our farmers from global trade abuses and the repercussions of Bidenflation that has caused prices to skyrocket. I will support our veterans and law enforcement, defend our Second Amendment rights, and work to improve education by putting students first. The people of Northeast Alabama deserve a Senator who is one of them and who shares their values. I was born and raised in Etowah County, where my family has lived for over seven generations. I met my wife Melissa here. I earned my degrees from Gadsden State Community College and Jacksonville State University, where I also founded one of Alabama’s largest College Republican chapters. I later worked with the Secretary of State to enforce the nation’s toughest Voter ID law and helped streamline operations saving taxpayers millions. I’ve always fought for our Alabama values, and I’m ready to keep fighting for them in Montgomery.I’m a small business owner, civically engaged, and a lifelong Conservative who loves this community. I serve on the Gadsden-Etowah Industrial Development Authority Board, lead the Gadsden Rotary Club, and I’ve supported President Trump since he took his ride down the escalator in 2015.This isn’t about politics – it’s about people. I’m ready to fight for you, not Montgomery elites. I’ll work hard every single day to earn your trust and your vote.Let’s bring leadership back home.”
