During the Town Council Meeting Monday afternoon, Mayor Pierce told the Council the bids were opened on May 20th with $473,800 being funded by ARPA Grant Funds but the Town would be responsible for the balance of $32,271. The Council approved the measure.
Police Chief, Hunter Brisendine gave the Council a quote for the Upfit price of the new Tahoe just purchased for the department. The lights, radio, cage and antenna cost and installation was $15,020 which the Council approved. He also informed the Council Officer DeHaro had completed the Police Academy training, the on-the-Job Training and is now patrolling on a regular work shift. The Chief recommended the Council approve a fifty cent per hour pay raise. The Council approved the request. The Chief also told the Council the Stop Sticks used by the department is worn out and needs to be replaced at a cost of $739 which includes mounting brackets for the patrol vehicles. The Council also approved the permanent mounting of the Flock Camera with a pole mount and installation of $650. It will be mounted on US Highway 411 where it is now on a small trailer.
A contract with AVENU was approved for the collection of alcohol and tobacco tax for the Town.
Mayor Pierce informed the Council, the Town’s new digital sign is installed next to the Fire Department on highway 68.
The next Leesburg Town Council Meeting will be on July 7th at 5pm.
