Rehoboth Road to Close for Bridge Construction Starting May 30
Rehoboth Road in southwest Floyd County, near Cave Spring and the Alabama state line, will be closed beginning Friday, May 30, 2025, for the construction of a new bridge. The closure is expected to last 120 days.
Construction will be carried out by F.S. Scarbrough Civil Contractors under the supervision of the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).
Traffic will be detoured via Buttermilk Road, accessible from Gadsden Highway (U.S. 411 / Ga 53).
This project is part of the federally funded Local Impact Bridge Program, which provides support for replacing locally maintained, weight-restricted bridges. The program began in 2014 and is managed by GDOT.
