Cherokee County Arrest Files for Wednesday, May 28

In the Cherokee County Arrest Files for the previous 24 hours:

Jason Nicholson, age 46 of Centre, was arrested by the Cedar Bluff Police Department on charges of driving with license revoked, display of invalid insurance, seat belt violation, and driving with license cancelled.

William Smith, age 35 of Dallas, Georgia, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on a previous charge of 1st degree theft of property.

Ruth Ann Griffitt, age 56 of Gadsden, was arrested by the Leesburg Police Department on charges of the unlawful possession of a controlled substance and the unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

David Bowman, age 47 of Fort Payne, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on charges of obstructing justice false ID, attempting to elude, 3rd degree assault, and resisting arrest.

Edward Triplett, age 37 of Gulfport, Mississippi, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on previous charges of the unlawful possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, the unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and no drivers license.

Charles Johnson, age 57 of Cedar Bluff, was arrested by the Centre Police Department on a charge of harassment-family.

Arrests are based on probable cause; all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Currently, there are a total of 111 inmates housed in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
