Albertville Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Stabbing Incident
MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. — A 44-year-old Albertville man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing that occurred on the night of May 21, authorities said.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, officers with the Albertville Police Department responded around 9 p.m. to reports of a stabbing in the 100 block of Lazy Creek Circle. Upon arrival, officers discovered 38-year-old Joseph Robert Wolfe suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen.
Albertville Fire & Rescue personnel provided emergency medical care at the scene before transporting Wolfe to Huntsville Hospital. He was initially listed in serious condition but has since been upgraded to stable as he continues to recover.
Investigators quickly identified the suspect as Ricky Brandon Epps, 44, also of Albertville. Epps was located at a nearby residence and taken into custody without incident.
While the investigation remains ongoing, authorities believe the stabbing may have resulted from an argument over money. Epps has been charged with attempted murder and is currently being held at the Marshall County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
Police say no further information is being released at this time as the investigation continues.
